Around the Row

Rachel Early

Last Friday, over 400 Panhellenic women and supporters joined one another in a celebration of sisterhood and philanthropic efforts through giveaways, music and of course, food! Representatives from each Panhellenic chapter brought their favorite foods and their energy to create an exhilarating and uplifting atmosphere surrounding Norman Field. From salad bars to mac n’ cheese bites and all the way to cookie cakes, attendees left with full plates and full bellies. Some even left with new merchandise, including Air Pods!

Around the Row, Panhellenic council’s annual philanthropy, benefits the Circle of Sisterhood and ensures a fun time for all who attend. Circle of Sisterhood is an organization that raises funds for impoverished and underprivileged young women throughout the world. This year, Around the Row raised $2,250 for Circle of Sisterhood! In case you haven’t heard the exciting news, the University of Florida’s Panhellenic Council will be sending 15 women to Senegal to build schools and develop relationships with the people of Senegal. With the support of attendees and the University community, proceeds from Around the Row will go toward the UF Panhellenic Council trip this summer and the rest will go directly to Circle of Sisterhood.

A night filled with: food, friends, philanthropy and music (even a few dogs!); what more could you want for a Friday night? As a council, our existence relies on our service to the community and the philanthropies we support. With Around the Row, we were able to establish stronger relationships and have fun while doing it! We cannot wait to see what next year has in store; we’ll see you there!

We are beyond thankful for the support and success of this event. The Panhellenic Council would especially like to thank Study Edge, GHQ Radio, UF Bookstore, Mi Apa, Karma Cream and everyone else who sponsored this amazing event to make it a success! .
