involvement: Delta Gamma is constantly striving to live by their motto to “Do Good” both on and off campus. They demonstrated an immense amount of involvement in Dance Marathon 2021 with 42 sisters in leadership positions, including 3 Overall Directors, and over 30 dancers. They raised $70,487 to win the Miracle Cup for the 7th year in a row! Many of their sisters also serve as presidents, executive board members, directors, and active members of campus organizations such as Florida Cicerones, Panhellenic Executive Board, Gator Growl, Florida Blue Key, Danza, Strike Magazine, FCF Magazine, Dazzlers, YLC, HLC, Best Buddies, March of Dimes, Dream Team, Pre-Professional organizations, Undergraduate Research programs, and UF Shands volunteering programs. Off campus, the sisters of Delta Gamma hold internships and leadership positions around the globe to promote their cultural interests, passions, and sense of empowerment that they gain from Doing Good. For hope, for strength, for life, the sisters of Delta Gamma aim to live by their high ideals of friendship and utilize them to establish a strong sense of social responsibility and the strongest bonds of sisterhood.

#wesitcktogether because we are defined by our high ideals of friendship amongst talented, diverse, and accomplished women. We are linked at first by place and time, experiences and education. What endures is our most treasured of all connections, the eternal bond of sisterhood that allows us to strengthen and support one another throughout a lifetime―it is what anchors us.

Hey, everyone!

My name is Leah Locascio, and I could not be more humbled or honored to serve as Delta Gamma’s president this year. The first day I walked into Delta Gamma, I saw a diverse and welcoming community of strong women with open hearts, fierce minds, and a sisterhood like no other. When I joined DG in 2018, my life changed for the better. I was met with open arms, new mentors, and friends who inspired me to get involved, pursue my passions, make mistakes, and grow from all of it. My sisters inspire me every day to “do good” and be more.

Our members are not only hardworking as Delta Geniuses in the classroom, but they are also leaders on campus and in our community. I am continually awed by my sisters’ unrelenting dedication to their innumerable involvements. Older sisters helped me with my first college resume, took me to my first club meetings, and encouraged me to make a difference with my four years at the University of Florida and beyond. I have been so lucky to experience this love and support, and I strive to provide that for all of you.

Looking back on my time as a collegian, I cannot put into words the magic that is Delta Gamma. DG has been my home and my rock for the past three years, and she has anchored me through life’s hardest challenges and sweetest joys. As Delta Gammas, we promise to be champions for one another and friends always, and I know that the bonds we have built will not end after four years; they are truly for life.

I am so excited for each of you to begin this journey that has brought me such fulfillment and ignited my soul, and I hope every woman who goes through Panhellenic recruitment is able to find what I have found in Delta Gamma. Find what anchors you. The best is yet to come.

With love,

-leah locascio, Delta Gamma President
