#thisishome because although we are all so diverse, we come together to celebrate our differences. When you walk (or ~fly~) into our homey yellow house, you are welcomed by genuine smiles, warm hugs, and the delicious smell of Chef Ann’s chocolate chip pretzel cookies. No matter what may be happening in the world, Pi Beta Phi is our safe haven where we are able to unapologetically be ourselves. Being a Pi Beta Phi isn’t about wearing certain Greek letters for 4 years of college; it’s a way of life!
Going through recruitment has been the most fulfilling and rewarding decision I’ve made as an undergraduate at the University of Florida. Through Pi Beta Phi, I’ve gained the most sincere friendships, an uplifting support system, and my home away from home. I’ve never been more comfortable around such a group of girls. From studying abroad and spring break trips together, to cheering on the Gators and 2 a.m. Taco Bell runs, my sisters have given me more memories and laughs than I could have ever imagined.
Becoming a part of the Panhellenic community has had such a positive influence in my life. It’s allowed me to give back through philanthropic services while bettering myself along the way. It’s also provided me with mentors that I didn’t even know I needed. They gave me help and guidance with both academics and involvement my Freshman year, when I was struggling being away from home for the first time.
The incredible women in my chapter inspire me every day to be the best version of myself possible. If you told me when I was a PNM that I’d be the Chapter President of my sorority, I’d tell you you’re crazy, but roughly three years later here I am. That’s what Pi Beta Phi has done for me. I owe so much to Panhellenic and Pi Beta Phi for helping shape me into the woman and the leader that I am today.
