#westicktogether because we know how important the strength of sisterhood is in our successes in college and beyond. 2020 and 2021 have brought many challenges, but the women of Sigma Kappa have stayed strong and committed to their chapter, community, academics, and philanthropy. The Sigma Kappa sisters encourage each other to become the best version of themselves and support each together through every endeavor. These women strive every day to live by their core values of service, loyalty, friendship, and personal growth, and live “One Heart, One Way.” The moment these sisters run home on Bid Day they know they have found a forever group of women that stick together no matter what life has planned for them.

Dear Potential New Members,

My name is Amanda Vega and I have the honor of serving as the President of Sigma Kappa at the University of Florida. I would have never expected to be in the position that I am in today, but Sigma Kappa has given me the assurance and confidence I have needed throughout my three years at the University of Florida to find myself and my home within the Panhellenic community.

If you had told me that I would be the President of my chapter three years ago, I would have never believed you. I truly would have never been in this position if it was not for the endless support that I receive from my sisters each and every day. I am proud to be part of an organization of amazing women who love to empower and encourage one another. All I could ever ask for during my time in college was to have a place to call home here at the University of Florida, and I am so lucky to have found that within the walls of 1108 E Panhellenic Dr.

My time at the University of Florida would not have been the same without Sigma Kappa, and I hope that each of you find the happiness and love that I have found here. Joining a sisterhood is so much more than finding friendships but finding a community of people who push you to be the best version of yourself. Through all the highs and lows that come with being a college student, the one thing that has stayed constant is the home I will always find at Sigma Kappa.

As you start the recruitment process, know that you will find your place and as cliché as it is to say, everything really does happen for a reason. Remember to stay true to your values and allow them to guide you throughout the process. Home is not a place or a house, but a feeling of love and support that you can only find from the people within it. Find the people that feel like home, just like I have found at Sigma Kappa.
