Alpha Delta Pi: Hidden Gems in Gainesville

My name is Rylee Jarmolych and I am a freshman studying biology and Spanish at the University of Florida. I am from a beachfront city, Clearwater, Florida, so I thought that moving to Gainesville would be a huge adjustment. Luckily, in my first semester here, I have found so many hidden gems throughout the town that I have fallen in love with.

Blue Springs Park is a beautiful spring with crystal clear water. This park is the perfect way to spend a warm day outside: tanning, swimming, and relaxing. Another place to spend time in the fresh air is at the countless markets that are always going on during the weekends in Gainesville! My favorite is the Florida Vintage Market that takes place on Sundays. Here, me and my friends get to support local vendors and the environment by shopping for vintage clothes! There are other markets too, like Haile Village Market, where you can find amazing fresh produce!

Besides spending time outside, one of my other favorite things to do is eat good food! The 4th Ave Food Park is home to a few delicious food spots, but my favorite is Satch^2. This restaurant has the best pizza I think I have ever eaten. Sometimes when I go home from Gainesville, I cannot wait to come back just so I can have this pizza... It’s that good. Not to mention, the food park itself is adorable with outdoor seating and picturesque decorations. Another great restaurant in Gainesville is the One Love Cafe. It is only 10 minutes from the heart of the campus and has live music, great food, and the cutest setting!

With Love,

Rylee Jarmolych and Alpha Delta Pi
