Alpha Epsilon Phi: Tips for Getting Involved

When I decided to come to UF, I chose to go through recruitment on a whim not knowing what joy it would bring me. Since joining Alpha Epsilon Phi, I have found my forever home. I never could have imagined how big of an impact this Panhellenic community would have on my life. I realized just how special Panhellenic is when I got the position of Junior Panhellenic Community Events Delegate for Alpha Epsilon Phi last semester. Getting the opportunity to talk to women from other chapters at Panhellenic meetings quickly became the highlight of my week. Now, I take every opportunity I can to become more involved in Panhellenic! Below are some tips for getting involved: 1. It’s never too early or too late! It doesn’t matter if it is your first year on campus or your last, getting involved is for everyone. Don’t feel like you can’t try something new because you haven’t been around for long enough or don’t have enough time left. Who knows what an opportunity could lead to! 2. Look into leadership roles in your chapter AND Panhellenic! There are so many great opportunities out there. Greek life at UF is so expansive there’s always opportunities to get more involved. 3. Talk to older girls in your chapter. This is an obvious one, but speaking to others you know about a possible involvement opportunity can help you learn more about it — especially coming from a trusted source like a sister! 4. Be open minded! This is the most important one. You never know what you are going to like unless you give it a try! The worst that could happen is you find out something isn’t for you — and that’s okay. But you won’t know unless you go for it.

With Love,
